MarketWatch.com - MarketPulse SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Symantec Corp. on Wednesday reported a fiscal third-quarter profit of $283 million, or 40 cents a share, on revenue of $1.71 billion. During the same period a year ago, the network-security technology company earned $212 million, or 30 cents a share, on $1.79 billion in revenue. Excluding one-time items, Symantec would have earned $358 million, or 51 cents a share.
