Herbalife shares rise on earnings, guidance

MarketWatch.com - MarketPulse SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Herbalife Ltd. shares rose in the extended session Tuesday after the company topped Wall Street estimates and raised its guidance for the year. Shares of Herbalife rose 3.8% to $71.55 on moderate volume. The nutritional supplements company posted fourth-quarter earnings of $123.5 million, or $1.15, compared with $112.2 million, or $1 a share, in the year-ago period. Excluding one-time items, Herbalife reported adjusted earnings of $1.28 a share. Revenue rose to $1.27 billion from $1.06 billion in the year-ago period. Analysts surveyed by FactSet forecast $1.25 a share on revenue of $1.25 billion.
