What storm? UNC-Duke basketball game is still on

MarketWatch.com - MarketPulse NEW YORK (MarketWatch)-- The winter storm battering the South and heading up the East Coast has already cancelled classes at the University of North Carolina, but the Wednesday evening men s basketball game against rival Duke is on. The game between the two teams is slated for 9 p.m. Eastern and will be broadcast on ESPN, making it available to many households that haven t lost power. The Associated Press reports that about 200,000 homes were still without power in Georgia and 100,000 lacked power in South Carolina by early Wednesday afternoon as ice-coated trees and branches take down power lines. Further north, Maryland s governor is telling residents to expect 24 hours of nasty weather and suggests staying off the roads after 10 p.m., when the storm is expected to hit.
